Koç Office of Learning and Teaching (KOLT) is dedicated to supporting students, TAs, and faculty at Koç University. It is the goal of KOLT to continually improve the learning environment at KU so thatthe students can achieve thier full potential in their chosen fields of study.
For students, we provide academic tutoring in most subject areas, including almost all core courses. In addition, we provide small group on-demand workshops to suppot effective learning inside and outside the classroom. In response to demand, KOLT periodically organizes problem sessions and review sessions for some courses. These activities are always coordinated with the faculty teaching those courses.
For Faculty, we provide a range of services that support excellence in teaching that match our university's rigorous standards of research. These services include seminars on effective teaching, a collection of print and video resources on various aspects of teaching, individual consultations with faculty, and video feedback on classroom activities. KOLT also supports innovative and student centered teaching at KU by providing interactive teaching resources, classroom technology, know-how, and funding to facilitate faculty initiatives to transform the classroom into a student centered active learning environment.
For graduate students of all disciplines, KOLT provides workshops for teaching assistantships and to prepare the graduate students for an academic career beyond the graduate school. In addition, KOLT assists graduate students manage their time effectively when they have completed structured coursework and started writing their theses.
